Substance abuse and compulsive gambling evaluations
These evaluations consist of a one-hour clinical interview to determine whether or not a client has a substance abuse or compulsive gambling problem. After the evaluation is completed, a verbal recommendation will be given and treatment options will be discussed where appropriate.
Individual (one-on-one) counseling sessions
These counseling sessions will consist of a one-hour clinical interview utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy to assist clients in need.
Randall beieves that counseling should include participation in the 12-step programs of Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous or Gamblers Anonymous where appropriate.
Family sessions
Often times, a spouse (for adult clients) and a parent (for juvenile clients) will desire to participate in a few counseling sessions with the client to gain some insight and knowledge into the disease concept of addiction and to identify ways of supporting the client.
Jail interviews and expert witness testimony
Randall has experience conducting substance abuse evaluations in jail for those waiting to go to trial. In addition, Randall has provided expert witness testimony at trial.
Often times, a Judge could be encouraged to allow for probation supervision and court-ordered substance abuse counseling instead of prison after hearing this recommendation from an expert witness. |
